RAMMED
EARTH HOUSE
The outdoor spaces & internal rooms were designed to capture maximum pleasing views of the surroundings. Our focus was to apply passive design strategies with respect to the local climate for natural ventilation & maintaining comfortable temperature inside the bungalow. The rammed earth walls maintain approximately 2-3 degrees temperature difference between the inside and the outside. We simply reacted to the site context, which gave us the form of the bungalow, without cutting any tree. The rammed earth walls were constructed by So-hath - Hundred Hands Foundation & technical guidance was given to us by Hunnarshala Foundation. The artisans, Hunnarshala supervisor, site artisans & our team architects + engineers, and the client, all played a crucial role by helping each other throughout the process & bonded with each other during the construction.
